Gainesville Area Rowing, Inc. (GAR) is a non-profit Florida corporation created to promote rowing as a sport in the Gainesville/Alachua County area. GAR teaches physical fitness, nutrition, and psychological skills that lead rowers to heightened mental and physical self-awareness. Through the active participation of its members, GAR provides the equipment and professional coaching staff to compete on a national level. GAR includes a high school program, a middle school program, and a Masters (adult) program.

Masters

Rowing is a lifelong sport. GAR offers an Adult Rowing Program called GAR Masters. Masters are adults 22+ who row competitively and recreationally. Adults between 18-22 years of age are considered college rowers but are welcome to row with the GAR Masters team.

Learn

Students from any area high school or middle school are welcome to join our team at any time. HS & MS students may participate in a 2-week free trial membership to see if rowing is a good fit for them.

For adults who have not yet experienced the fun, challenge and benefits of rowing, GAR Masters offers Learn-To-Row classes.
