GAR Wish List

Any or all of these items will help the club, tremendously. Maybe as an outgoing Senior Rower, a family would like to donate one of the items listed below. Maybe some of our Alumni would like to donate something to show their appreciation for the positive impact GAR had on their family. You could even go in together to buy something from this list. The main goal is to help the club and the best way to do that is by giving in whatever way that you can either through gifts of money, tangible gifts (below), gifts of our time, or all three!

Rent-A-Rower

Rent-A-Rower is a new fundraising effort for GAR this year. Rent-A-Rower is a fundraising program designed to provide you with extra labor in exchange for a donation to help support our club

Erg-a-Thon

The Erg-a-Thon will take place on Sunday, February 14th in conjunction with LifeSouth’s Marathon. GAR expects each rower to collect a minimum of $50 in pledges and then “row” to earn the pledged amount (think March of Dimes walk-a-thon only on a rowing machine).

The 2010 Erg-a-Thon flyer can be downloaded here: GAR_erg-a-thon 2010

Yearbook Ad Sales

GAR publishes a yearbook at the end of every year. GAR expects each rower to sell $50 worth of personal and/or business ads.

Volunteer
If you are a GAR member or parent, sign up to volunteer at the regatta. The Gator Head will draw in over a thousand rowers and spectators. We need your help to run the event smoothly and safely. There are several ways you can help out on race day. Contact Alice Rankeillor at alicer@gator.net to sign up. GAR Masters, you can sign up to volunteer on the GAR Masters Calendar.

Baked Goods: We would like all GAR families to make 2 dozen of some type of homemade goodies. Ideas can include muffins (I made pumpkin muffins), breads (banana, zucchini)-2 slices per bag, rolls (croissants, cheese), bars (brownies, pecan, oatmeal), cupcakes, and cookies. We will sell them for $2 a piece. Please wrap them individually and make the quantity appropriate for the $2 price tag. Use your best judgment-we’ll adjust if need be. We would prefer you bring them Sat. morning due to limited storage space-either by your rower or you. The goodies can be dropped off Friday with your rower or when you pick them up if that works best for you. We are hoping much of this sells in the breakfast time frame. Again, thank you for all your support of GAR.
